Time for a new tour, to discover another little bit of Turin.
The Contrada dei Guardinfanti is located in the grid of streets between Via Barbaroux, Via Garibaldi, Via dei Mercanti, Via di San Tommaso, Via San Francesco d'Assisi, and Via XX Settembre. It corresponds to a portion of the Roman Augusta Taurinorum and has retained its charm and commercial vocation over time thanks to the numerous ancient buildings, historic shops, and artisan workshops located here. The term "guardinfanti" referred to the large bell-shaped frames of women's dresses sold in the 19th century on what is now Via Barbaroux.
We’ll walk through these narrow streets, discover their history and breathe the atmosphere (and the Christmas one) that this district emanates. We’ll have the chance to stop by a couple of those historic shops and, to compensate for the cold that unfortunately will accompany us on our walk, and reward all the participants for their courage 😉, during the tour we’ll all experience a sweet and warm moment.
