Exhibition of Fashion Pieces Dedicated to Robert Redford
From December 18, Protected content , the exhibition presents a selection of garments inspired by Robert Redford's films. The garments on display, mostly from the historic Roman tailoring firm Farani, recall the romantic scenes of The Great Gatsby, from F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel of the same name, or echo the stories of the two protagonists of The Sting (Redford and Newman), or allude to that world of yesteryear, as in Out of Africa. Nor could the legendary blue pea coat from Three Days of the Condor be missing, worn with jeans and Ray-Bans, thus defining the discreet and practical elegance of urban casual that has become a style. The garments highlight the American artist's emblematic traits.
This early 20th-century house museum once belonged to the Boncompagni Ludovisi family. Donated to the Italian State in Protected content , it became a museum in Protected content , intended as a center for the promotion and documentation of the decorative arts, fashion, and costume, understood as the evolution of social taste in the modern period. A common thread unites these distinct cultural fields: the history of the taste for beauty and the quality of product manufacturing.
